Cricut expression is a device that helps to cut letters, phrases, etc in different shapes and sizes. It is a large machine that uses mat of dimension 12” by 12” for smaller sizes and 12” by 24” to cut in larger sizes. There are other types of electronic devices that do the same function but the Cricut expression is more developed and larger unit than the others. The unit helps to slice out cuts for scrapbook layouts, class decor, signage, etc. It uses the same cartridges and blades and includes mix and match features installed in the same system. No computer aided interfacing is necessary for the system’s run and you can make use of the entire library of existing design in the cartridge.
The unit uses a LCD display so that you can have a view of what you are typing for the cut and it decreases error to a great extent. It is provided with a control panel through which you can change the setting such as the language or the unit of measurement. The device actually cuts out letters, phrases, etc from paper, vinyl, vellum or cardstock. It is same as that of its earlier versions but has a number of advantages over its predecessors. It is more flexible and can cut sizes as much as double than original Cricut. In the original Cricut it was not possible to change the language and units of measurement through its setting.
The LCD is the most notable advantage than its previous versions and it allows the user a large number of choices on how to cut the materials. The obvious disadvantage of the Cricut expression is that it occupies a greater space and is much heavier and thus is not suitable for transport. Though it is much more costly but recently its prices have dropped and you can avail it for even $ 300 or less. The unit is almost carefree and you only need to change the knife blade or the cutting mat when needed. Though it is highly priced (almost $499), the Cricut expression is a better option for crafters as it adds versatility to the design.
