Sorry to hear about your problems! The Cricut Expression can work with very small sizes of paper and we've never experienced the small pieces of paper getting caught up at all. That's probably thanks to the cutting mats that they provide as well. Sorry you have so much wrapped up into the Slice, of course do a bit of your own research, but we'd recommend the Expression over the Slice any day.

I have a SLICE with 10 cartridges. It still will not do all that I want and if I don't use a large piece of paper, the paper gets caught and messes up the item I want to cut. Now I have the 12x12 glass hands free kit and the Slice will not print on that. I guess I will need to lower to blade. Also I like the gypsy so much because I can get cursive names instead of letters. Do I need to change from Slice to Cricut? I have lots of money wrapped up in Slice, but it is not making me happy right now.
