If you are into scrapbooking at all then no doubt you have heard about Provo Craft’s Cricut cutting machines. They are amazing machines that take a lot of work out of tons of projects, they don’t require a computer to use, and they are so simple and intuitive to learn even we can understand them! If you’ve ever used one then you probably have seen how much fun they can be, but have you ever thought about how you could make money doing what you love?
Making money from your passion is a dream of many, but they usually think it’s too hard and give up. The truth is that doing this isn’t really all that difficult! The only limit is your imagination and what you can create. Here’s a couple ideas to get you started with thinking about how to make some money with your hobby:
Decorate Themed Parties
Kids love to have themed parties. Whether it’s a Pokemon party, a Bakugan toy birthday party, a Disney character costume party, kids simply adore them. You could easily make some money by making decoration packages for these kinds of events. Print and cut out a bunch of different sized decorations, make customized name tags the kids can stick on, even make playing cards or character cards the kids can collect and trade with each other.
Custom Cards and Invitations
Who doesn’t love a customized thank you card or invitation? It shows that a lot of thought and love has gone into them. If you love doing this, why not sell some of your creations to make a little money at the same time? It is really surprising how many people would love to have a custom card or invitation made for their birthdays, anniversaries, get-togethers, and special events. Quite often you local arts and crafts store will even be willing to put your creations on display and sell them to their customers. Of course, they often take a cut, but it saves you the time of having to go out and find people yourself.
Custom Scrapbook Layouts
Scrapbooking can border on an obsession for us. We’re always trying to make that perfect page layout, or find that perfect little touch that will make our scrapbooks that much better. You can use the Cricut machine to make die cuts of scrapbook page layouts and then easily sell them to other enthusiasts like yourself. You can always sell your things online. These days it is so easy to make a website. Go to blogger.com and sign up for a free blog, then with a little practice you can make a nice little website featuring all the amazing products you offer. Put it on a business card (also free with lots of those online offers out there) and pass it out to anybody you meet. They can easily see everything you offer in one place and then place an order.
These are just a few ideas for you to get started making money with your hobbies. Don’t be intimidated and think you are not good enough or it is too difficult. Just start trying, and you may find yourself surprised at how good your efforts turn out.
